    on the windows download I can get the files but when I try to open it (after I extract it) it never opens. and when I try source download it opens but if I play or go on level editor on a mappacks, the game deletes itself.

      Go to download then cut it take it to android then to date scroll down then go to love to mari0 And files save mari0 android alissine intites and then go to characters and yeah :)

      Windows 10 says "Windows protected your PC" for some reason. I think it does that for every app that isn't from the windows store.
      Just click "More info" then click "Run anyway".

      you go to "mapppacks" click "DLC" and click "super mario odyssey" after you click it you will go on download site you download it after it DON'T EXTRACT ZIP just go to Mari0 click mapppacks again DLC again and Open DlC folder and you just copy and paste a file i hope i helped :))

      You don't. You can just download the mod and run it. Alesan might know a way to upload your save data to Mari0: AE.

    Can't seem to get custom characters to work, and the guides posted are vague and don't actually give you step-by-step instructions besides "oh, this goes in your characters folder". Question is, WHERE is the characters folder?

      1. Open the game
      2. Go to "OPTIONS" in the main menu
      3. Click on "SKINS" at the top
      4. Go down to where it says "MARIO," and press M
      5. Extract the folder out of your .zip file into your character folder, which should have just opened up on your computer (if your folder was already extracted, that's OK, just put it in. Just make sure that you put in a folder, not the raw files.)
      6. Go back into the game, press your right arrow key. The character you wanted to play as should be there! (Close and re-open the game if your character doesn't appear when you first try.)

      Voila! You now have a custom character, plus any abilities they come with. I figured this all out through trial and error, so please tell me if something I did didn't work for you and I'll attempt to troubleshoot it if I see it lol

      That tutorial was vague because it was meant for making characters, not adding them (if someone was looking to make a character its reasonable to assume they already know how to add them).
      Anyway the game opens up the folder for you in both the settings menu and the DLC menu.

      If you read virustotal it says only 1 out of 61 antiviruses thought it was a virus, and MaxSecure isn't even one of the reputable antiviruses like Microsoft's or Avast. It's a false positive... and no one has commented that they got a virus because of the mod.
      Scan all the other downloads and you'll see they don't get any false positives, and also notice that I uploaded the source code, so anyone can see what's inside the game's code.
